A magnificent free image editor that offers more features than its predecessor: Gimp.

Over time Gimp has become an essential tool for lovers of photo editing for its versatility, usefulness and because it is also free. All these adjectives you could apply to its successor GIMPVS, which is an improved version of Gimp. Among other reasons this is because it is faster, something appreciated when starting it (now it takes half the time of before). For everything else, the tools like resizing or rotating, also improved, now work in real time. Full of improvements, GIMPVS offers a more dynamic working mode that also now includes keyboard shortcuts.

You also have red-eye reduction, it supports SVG format (vectored images that support Inkscape) and textures of all types. It has support for alpha channel (transparencies), various channels, do/undo, you can insert text, conversion tools, modellable skins, etc. GIMPVS works with BMP, GIF, JPEG, MNG, PCX, PDF, PNG, PS, PSD, SVG, TIFF, TGA, XPM, etc.
